Georgie and I had a quiet morning today, reading Ferdinand, the bull who didn't want to fight, sitting on the comfy chair by the living-room's bay-window.The story is one of those classical tales about staying true to yourself and not being afraid of thinking or behaving differently from the rest. Ferdinand is a bull who prefers to smell flowers and contemplate the fields, rather than to fight in the arena in Madrid. And he was very happy. What better end to a story?
The book was a present from Aunt Becky and is becoming one of Georgie's favorite stories. It was written in 1936 by Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. If you haven't bought it yet for your child, don't wait too long. You will enjoy it too!
