things from Chicago that we want to take home

This is alist of things that we want to take home to Brussels from Chicago (again in no particular order):

the lake and its beaches
the whole of downtown, including the John Hancock Center, the Standard Oil Building and the Sears Tower
the Crown Fountain
the river when it shimers the colour of emerald
the parks (all of them)
our entire street with its beautiful houses and gardens, its leafy trees and wide sidewalks (Debbie would come along too with her house and we could be neighbours)
people's cheerfulness
the ease with which many people talk to one another
Becky and Ed (it may sound like we are objectifying our friends into commodities, but we love them so much we would like them to come with us)
the sky, because it expands into white clouds and magical blue above our heads
big chunks of Andersonville and the bookshop Women and Children First
the N Lincoln Public Library branch
Ana Maria Pasteria, an Italian restaurant just around from our place whose food is so good that even Georgie wants to go there all the time
the service-oriented mentality that makes shopping a pleasure instead of an ordeal
the mini-fridge that we found at Target
the Children's Museum at Navy Pier
the Field Museum
the small Mexican restaurants of Rogers Park
the summer

... to be added
